I was hired to illustrate this story by Michael Coles, I've worked on a previous set of books for Choose your Reader, The Great Book of Secret Societies, which was very fun but this one is about a Chihuahua mix!! This boy gets a chihuahua from the dog pound and though they know that he is half Chihuahua, they can't figure out what the other half is. The underlying message of the story is; if you're after a dog, try the rescue home/pound first.
Why this story is perfect for me is because earlier this year we adopted a Pomerhuahua called Frank (so half Chihuahua and half Pomeranian), he was great inspiration for the drawings!
