Knight Rodents...

Sometimes I am contracted by a publisher to illustrate a children's story but they don't want me to have the story, I offer to sign an NDA (none disclosure agreement) but still they say, no.

It makes it awkward as so much of the image is actually specified in the text, details can be given but so many are left out. This chapter book about a mouse, needed so many unnecessary revisions due to this e.g. the illustration of her making a map by the door, originally I did the door larger but the publisher came back and said, in the first chapter the mouse crawls through the door, so it has to be smaller. If I'd read the book I would've known that But it was fun to illustrate and make my own narrative. Here are a few of the illustrations. I just realised, I don't even know what the book is called...
